Andy:

First, thank you for all the useful, practical information you willing provide to salon owners. It's obvious that you are more concerned with us operating our systems than Helios.

If Helios doesn't take the considerations of those using the program seriously when they are creating a new version, then they are only out for themselves.

2) I have a question. WHen I installed Helios on my home computer, it comes up automatically as the computer boots up. That's the way I want my salon computer to work, but not my home computer.

I thought there was somewhere that I could go in and uncheck a box so that the program didn't run at start up, but I can't remember where to find it.

Is that possible and how do I set Helios to only open when I want to access it.

Melissa

Melissa, couple of ways to stop it, that vary a little with different operating systems - here is the simpliest.

Windows START button (lower left corner - normally) - Programs - Start Up - Point at BUT do not click the Helios item - Right Click (assuming normal mouse set up) - and then from the pop up list select "DELETE" - confirm.

There it is gone from the automatic Start Up when you start Windows.

You are just deleting it from the automatic start up when you boot your system, you are not deleting Helios.

In order to start it when you want you can either use the ShortCut on your Desktop or the item with the Program Start List - Start - Programs - Helios - Helios (Helios will include the Version # you are using).

If by chance you do not have a shortcut on your desktop - go to the Helios item in your program start list (see above) - point at but do not click on it (or it will start) - Right Click (again assuming normal mouse set up) Create Shortcut - you will now have a second "Helios 9" item called "Helios 9 (2) in the program list - you can drag and drop it onto your desktop.

Hope this helps

Good to hear, less annoying that way at home.

Should be an option on the install of Helios - to add the autostart - the way it was in V7
