Tell us about your new laptop internet wireless!

I have a compaq and got all the data cables for my cell phone so I could get online when away from reg. access. Just to find out that Cingular does not support this yet.

I use aol on laptop for ease of moving around. Does anyone know what I could do diff. maybe.

Michael has this card for his laptop

I have a Xircom card in my lappy now, does this work inconjuction with the voice stream or do I take it out and insert the voicestream card? Also, I guess I have to sign up on a plan with them??? What are my best options. I would really like to be lappy wireless! But as you can tell by my questions, I am not very smart on this stuff.

You would take out your Xircom card (is it a modem or ethernet card?) and use the VoiceStream card when you want to use it wirelessly.

You will also need a VoiceStream iStream account, but this can be the same account as your phone (if your phone is on VoiceStream).

Thanks Jcole. No I have Cingular wireless as my phone and aol as my lappy provider. So I could eliminate aol if i choose voicestream and their card? I hate aol but is handy with lappy and moving around. I have cable at home on desktop.
