One of my managers just found a major problem with Helios Verison 9.2.5 and 9.4 and possibly 9.1.2

She noticed that her daily sales reports were off. Upon further investigation the problem is in accepting a split payment that include either "bonus bucks" or "prepaids". With the split payment method NONE of the "bonus buck" or "prepaid" monies are deducted from the customers account.

This seems to only happen when the cash amount is greater than the amount spent.

Example: Susan has $20 in bonus bucks and buys a bottle of Helix for $50. She wants to use all of her bonus bucks and pay cash for the remainder. If she give you a $100 bill Helios will show the correct amount of change of $80. But after the sale she STILL HAS HER $20 in bonus bucks. Since the screen erases just after the sale you don't notice this right off.

You just lost $20!

This also happens with Prepaids as well.

Danno, I just tested this in V9.4 and I experienced the same problem with a test transaction as you reported.

I have emailed a link to your post to the Manager of Tech Support at Helios.

THANK YOU

Andy,

Is there a way we can go back and see how many people we did not deduct bonus bucks on? I would like to deduct the bonus bucks and prepaids on people in the past. That could be a lot of money.

chunn this is why I don't use 1/2 the features in helios!
Wait till you have a data screw up like i had back in november, 30 days worth of corupted backups on zip disks!
Total lock out.
What a mess, when I tried to do a restore!
Total lock out again.
Helios did not and could not help at all.
Thank god for the paper back ups I did.

Manager of Helios Tech Support advises that this issue has been corrected in Version 10.

I asked for an update on the projected release date of V10 - likely a month or so.

I suggested that a utility to assist in identifying prior transactions related to this issue would be a benefit to Users. This would allow Users to adjust Bonus Bucks remaining or Prepaids remaining if appropriate (using Master Edit). Have had a couple of email exchanges with Helios on this idea and am awaiting a final response.
