Is there some sort of standard for how long timer units last? I use a CCSIII for my front desk controller and I was just thinking the other day if it takes a powder I would be slightly inconvienced. Was wondering if I should keep a backup around but at $600 a pop I would not want to keep many back ups around.

We have a two-year warranty on our timers. They should last. I would however recommend a backup unit (think of it as a $600 insurance policy).Kevin BarrettADI Tech Support

Is there a two year warranty for the Manager as well? Also, what does the warranty cover? We bought our Manager last year and are having some problems with it not recognizing beds or not recycling properly after a power loss. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

i recommend having a backup on hand, whether you are using the CCS III or IV, the Manager, Manager Plus, or Pro. that will save a lot of headache if you do have a problem with your main unit. you can use your backup while the other is either being replaced (if under warranty) or repaired. i've found that most problems with either the CCSIII/IV or Managers are operator-error. most problems can be reprogrammed over the phone. another major issue that i deal with daily is power surge/electrical problems. often these surges will take out communication chips ($4.00/ea-a good idea to have several on hand at all times). since electrical surges can't be accounted for, there isn't exactly a time frame that i can give you. sometimes, a surge or other problem can corrupt the software. most of the time, the software can be reloaded. for CCS III or IV, go to www.sunergoline.com. you can download the adnet utility there. for manager use, go to www.appdig.com for the download. if you want, you can send them into me for download, or directly to applied digital...also, keep spare test cables on hand. someone almost always either staples through, vaccuums over, or somehow knocks a cable out of place. that accounts for mainly failures in the system that are often blamed on the front desk controller.the front keypad/membrane that controls the functions may fail after heavy use...those can be replaced as wellother than that, they can last for years. the only thing(s) that i've ever seen completely destroy either the CCS or Manager was 1-severe lightning damage and 2-carbonated beverage spilled into the unit. that's gonna do it everytime. if you have any ??? you can email me. teri@fstanning.comthanksteri berryparts sales supervisorfour seasons sales & service www.fsparts.com

Keep the timers, the timer controller computer and POS computers on surge surpressor/apc power backups at all times.
