Are there any special settings for the COM port on a Windows NT computer connected to a TMax unit with a serial cable? I am using Suntouch to control the beds. I cannot seem to get a link between Suntouch and the Tmax unit. I know the COM port works because I had a serial mouse connected before, and it worked fine.I have tried turning the Tmax unit off and on and resetting the server multiple times. I have also checked the COM setting in Suntouch.Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure the mouse driver is not still trying to control that Serial port. Run ADNET 2000 and see if it can talk to the T-Max Manager. The Serial port settings are as follows:9600 baud8 bitsNo parityNo Hand shaking1 stop bitI'm on vacation in New Mexico right now (and still answering e-mails, talk about no life:-). I'll send an e-mail to my people to monitor this if you have any further questions. I'm going to be out and running around for a while.Kevin BarrettADI Tech Support

I have already disabled the serial mouse driver under devices. I also checked the serial driver under devices, and it starts up fine. I have not tried the Adtran yet. When I installed Suntouch, I did not have the serial connection to the Tmax unit yet. Does the computer have to be conneted to the unit before I install Suntouch?I am using an Athalon 1ghz system with 128 MB Ram and Windows NT Workstation 4 sp6.Thanks for your help.

Try running ADNET, as Kevin suggested. If ADNET cannot communicate with the Manager, we'll start looking at the hardware.Dan Boone, ADI

I tried running Adnet 2000 with no success. To verify it was not the computer, I hooked the serial cable to another computer and installed Adnet 2000. Again Adnet reported that it could not communicate. This computer was running win98. I have also tried two differnet cables on both COM ports with no success. Could the Tmax unit be malfunctioning? Is there a way to tell what is happening with the serial connection on the Tmax unit itself?

E-mail me with your phone number & a good time to call. It sounds like your Manager communications chip needs to be replaced.Dan Boone, ADIddboone@appdig.com417-338-5101
