Tanning Rules Sign

Do any of you have signs inside the rooms for your customers, giving recommendations and rules for tanning? If so, would you mind sharing?

For instance -

*Remove makeup
* Contact lenses should be removed before tanning
*Please wear protective eyewear
*Apply your favorite after tan or moisturizer after tanning

etc....

Thanks in advance!

We don't have any signs in our rooms cause the owner thinks it looks tacky so we tell them those kind of things when they sign up.. and how to get the best tan... we also provide eye wear in each room..

Each tanning room represents a sales opportunity and forum for transfer of information.

I agree that poorly designed and presented signs in the tanning room look terrible. Beautifully designed and framed signs in the rooms can generate sales and also act as a reminder that you care about the tanning experience.

Use of the rooms for marketing and transferring information is where the large chains excel. When I speak of creating a buying environment this is what I am referring to.

The signs that promote product sales and tanning package promotions should be changed at least once a month or as promotions change. Each room is like having additional sales staff.

When I talk about salon structure and changes that can be made to improve sales or customer service, this falls into that category.

This is just one of many things that can improve sales and communication with tanners.

The signs must be a form of artwork.

Signs belong in the lobby......... Customers use the tanning rooms to relax - not be preached at.

That is the worst advice I have ever heard. A sign is passive marketing and has no effect on a tanner relaxing. It is a friendly and useful way to transfer information, especially when a salon is under staffed or busy.

Anyone that is not taking advantage of valuable marketing space is losing potential income.

I am sure your salon is doing well, however if you tried some of the proven marketing practices your salon would actually increase performance. Be more open to things that will improve business. Consumers are evolving and you should evolve as well. Try being less negative and opposed to change. Try something different and give it a chance to work. I think you will be surprised.

Been there - done that - never will again.
Some times using your advice would be like running a street fair

Re: Tanning Rules Sign

I will place a nice poster in a simple frame on the walls of each room when I'm running specials, changing hours, changing bulbs, etc. etc. It works really well, and my customers see to notice them. Maybe its because I'm in a small town and get to know all my customers by name. Occasionally, 'll ask them if they saw the special deal we were running. Seems to work for us.

Re: Tanning Rules Sign

Marketing is a tool to introduce you and your services. If you run a special care package you should spend some money and frame the announcement with product pics and price savings and post it in the rooms. Sight sells!!
