Rep Power: 20 | Black Friday Over the years consumers have been programed to shop and look for deals on Black Friday. Because of this it is a good idea to put together a Black weekend promotion and run it for 3 days. This is one promotion because of the implication of black Friday that you should offer a deep discount for short term packages only so it does not effect income after the new year. Just as an idea maybe 50% off any one month package or single session and maybe include single session spray tan . This is an opportunity for tanners to buy tanning as a gift. Buy as many single sessions as you like and put a limit as to how many spray sessions you can buy. You should also offer a deep discount on lotions for those 3 days. This will kick off the holiday season and should generate a substantial amount of cash. Have a sales meeting instructing your staff how to sell each package and get the most out of the promotion. It is always more effective when you structure promotions around specific events. This is just one of many promotions that you can run. Unlike this particular promotion most promotions do not have to include deep discounts. The main Idea is to create awareness of tanning and include a reason to act now. Remember the sale is made in the salon. |

Rep Power: 20 | Re: Black Friday This is a promotion that works well for many and generates some cash flow that may not be there. As I said nothing in terms of a long term package that will bleed into 2016. These also make great Xmas gifts. This is only a good idea if your monthly package is not under priced. One month level 1 should be $49.99 making this promotion $25 for one month level 1. If your prices are already too low you should not consider a 50% off ever. That is why having a great price structure also takes into account promotions and where they will land. |

Rep Power: 19 | Re: Black Friday I have to agree with Steve on this one. We start our Black Friday event on Wednesday and run thru the following Monday. If you think it thru, you can come up with some good promotions. Now we don't come close to have the turn out traditional retailers do. But we have turn this weekend into doing 10 times the business we would do otherwise. Just gotta brain storm it!!! |

But you can offer like a free pair of eye wear and lotion with this purchase. Or 1 month in level 1 at regular price and get an extra 5 days. The pricing Steve throws at you suggests that we are all still running 24 lamp beds.

There are so many ways to offer promotions that will not devalue tanning. It should always be done with short term packages that will not reduce sales during the active season. At some point you may realize that not being willing to try something that may substantially increase sales is a mistake. If these ideas do not appeal to you that is fine. However for those that are doing nothing and need ideas for how to increase sales, promotions are important. It only works if you are marketing your client base through your web site, social media and email, text is also effective if used properly.

Rep Power: 20 | Re: Black Friday This is an email I received today from a salon owner that did a black Friday sale and ran it Monday, Tuesday and today. This is wonderful what I am experiencing this week. Much needed revenue and people love the sales! Our numbers are increasing and my salon is getting busier. I am super excited. thanks Steve Happy thanksgiving Sent from my iPhone It shows a properly placed sale will generate business that would not have been there and it will not devalue your product. What, where and when you advertise will determine the business it will generate. |
