Counter height ????
 

I purchased a building on our town square. So excited to get renovations started and I got to thinking about counter heights. Right now I have 34" tall counters and would like to raise them with a platform. I'm wondering what is a good height.

34" is too low. You want it more like 42" or a comfortable writing height for an average person.

Keep in mind that you need to make sure that there is or is not an ADA regulation in your state for counter heights. I had to have one for ADA at 36 inches. It's the little things that will nail ya!

Standard cabinet height is 34 1/2", then approx 1 1/2" for counter top thickness. Most retail businesses have custom counters - which can be whatever you want. But most retail, and especially most Bars, have counters are 42". And as tall as up to 46".
