Rep Power: 21 | Are You Properly Staffing Your sSlon I am sure many of you are trying to run your salon with one person at the counter. You may even expect that person to clean beds between getting tanners checked in. At times you may schedule a person to clean beds when it is busy. Here is the truth about scheduling and salon set up. Every salon should have at least two computer stations. By doing so you can check in tanners and have a station for working with new tanners. If you are only checking in tanners you are not able to sell new tanners or spend the time needed with existing clients to sell product and up grades. Having enough staff to actually make sales will pay for itself in additional sales. Train your staff with monthly sales meetings and have enough staff during those active hours of the day to actually make more sales and also raise the level of customer service you provide. Proper staffing and a great price structure will go a long way towards increasing sales substantially. These are not the only things that will have a positive impact on your business this season, but every improvement in your salon structure will make a difference. Let this up coming year be the season you actually drive sales up through the effort you make to execute change. |

Rep Power: 11 | Re: Are You Properly Staffing Your sSlon Agreed! training your staff to upsell is the best way not to survive but to put up numbers you've only dreamed of. McDonald's didn't build an empire selling hamburgers... They asked you if you wanted fries with that. It's about upgrades, Lotion, moisturizer , Leg lotion, face lotion, Plateau breakers, Branded T-shirts and Hoodies, and so much more First you have to have the product in stock to sell it! After that it's up to you and/or your training managers to get the staff engaged and trained to sell your product. We have dedicated skincare experts (Sales) and dedicated bed detailers. We work 2 sales and 1 detailer on a 7 bed salon in busy season so everyone that walks though is cared for, helped, conversed with, and suggested something to buy! Open ended questions!!! Never do I want to hear one of my staff say "Do you have a lotion today?" if so they're fired before the customer can reply! Always ask open ended questions, how are you liking your lotion today? type deals. |
