Re: What is a good software program? and why?

Our sales contact is Mindy Neal. She is very professional, punctual with follow up and most definitely not a pushy salesperson. She usually responds same day via email and returns calls just as fast. I think I might have had to wait 24 hours for a response but she was looking stuff up for me. She walked us through it very nicely and still follows up from time-to-time. We're pretty low maintenance.

Here's her e-signature with contact info:

Re: What is a good software program? and why?

yes any pos will slow them down but your basically wide open with all 3 products. Biggest reason is the dumb (not smart) timer systems!

Re: What is a good software program? and why?

My issue with most salon software is simply the expense. As a very small salon with only 4 units, I can't justify paying $50 a month for fees. I need a software company to make an affordable product for the small salon, or a product for which the cost is based on the number of units.

If you cant afford $50 a month then you cant afford to be in business!

I agree.

Wow, never thought i would say that.

You're obviously doing something wrong if you can't afford to pay the $50/mth or don't want to spend it on software that will run your entire business, protect your profits and sales and report on how you are failing or succeeding so that you know which direction to take with marketing, sales techniques, where you need to focus on, who is not selling enough on their shifts, which beds are used most often, and much much more.

You are basically blind to what your business is doing right or wrong without a proper software in place.

You pay $50 a month for phone line, internet and many other services that you believe are a necessity, but none of them will give you the information you need to be successful at your salon or protect you.

How can you NOT afford to pay the $50 a month is what you should be asking. I would rather have a POS system over any other bill i have to pay at the salon.

Think about it, you charge your customers $25-$65 a month for tanning....a luxury. How can you not pay $50 a month for something that will run your whole business.

contact Hap at Sunease software, he created FST timers, it's free for a year and then it's 300 bucks, I went with that and so far I am happy with all it can do.

Going to agree with Tony and Din. If you can't afford $50 per month, it's way past time to close up and move on.

Re: What is a good software program? and why?

I say don't get discouraged, and do it your way, save money your way, it's too late... you already have the salon, what they want you to close up shop?, default on the lease, get sued for non-performance? ruin your credit along the way, go find a job? you at least have some pride of ownership with the salon and if you go down in flames you did it your way. some of these people have no empathy.

they just encourage you to quit and don't give you a solution for your budgeting. I get you.

i bought a salon with the crappiest MS DOS program and the dude had it in 6 salons...and all the girls had to jerk around with it and he never got any reports, they hand wrote the sales on top of the program, talk about a mess.... for 20 f-in years. he made millions.
