Re: AND THE ANNUAL DOWNTREND CONTINUES

Eileen you are always welcome here as I think you know.

Hmm I wound if banning banning is a double negative?

Thats completely irrelevant. We fully understand you do it where and
when you want too! That also is not the point. Somewhere people need
to take a moral stand. BO has done some despicable stuff over there. At
some point enough is enough! At some point you should not WANT to do it
over there!

Do you think I would moderate over there if asked? HECK NO!
That would be a moral compromise! I already gave Frankie
grief over her moderation over there too! At some point its just
wrong to watch all that go on and continue to appear to condone
it via continued participation!

Thats my 2 cents!
Hate to say it dude, but Frankie is right in there with BO on the banning bandwagon. I cannot understand the ethical logic in creating a public forum, then banning people who you don't agree with. It just seems counter intuitive.

On TT, if they disagree with you on one issue, they attack you on everything that you say. They are relentless.

These forums are designed to be a "community", to help others in the industry.

They get a "personality" - and "customers" gravitate to the ones that fit them most.

Not long ago, there were 4 and more "active" indoor tanning communities. One was known for having seasoned veterans - who were merciless on "newbies". Another got the most "newbie" questions. Some lean toward sunless. Some were more "friendship circles" than informational. Etc.

It is the right of the "management" of the sites to do what they want to preserve the climate that will be preferred by the majority of the "customers". Not unlike any of our salons. You sometimes get a customer that is so hostile to staff, or complaining, or trying to bend the rules that sometimes you just "ban them" - and ask them to take their business elsewhere. Some other salon might be happy to have them and have no problem with them. OR - they may be so difficult that MULTIPLE salons decide on to ask them to take their business elsewhere.

People aren't paying to be a "customer" on these sites. And it costs money to run them. So - like in individual salons - it is the "right" of the owners and their "management" - to do what they want to maintain their version of the "best" place for their customers.

It isn't an ethics issue or anything else. It's business. Some customers you are better off not having.

That is a very dangerous and very slippery slope! Kinda progressive!
We want everyone to have the freedom to chose as long as you chose
what we want you to choose otherwise we will find a way to marginalize
you or silence you. Preferably both!!!

I have no idea where, when, or why you would moderate.
Eileen

Are you suggesting that I am not worthy of a moderator position?

Re: AND THE ANNUAL DOWNTREND CONTINUES

I used to frequent TT, but found they are so rude, and know-it-all smart butts over there, it's hard to join in a conversation. I feared for my life, and choose not to visit there. They need to lighten-up and get some fresh blood over there. No pun intended.

I didn't say that or anything close to it.

What I DID say is that these sites are private businesses that have the right, like any business, to "refuse service" to anyone as long as they aren't discriminating in anyway that is illegal.

Being an "A**hole" isn't a "protected class".

So if a "customer" is such a pain in the neck that it takes up the time of the "staff" or drives away other customers -- you ask them to take their business elsewhere. If you are fortunate enough to NEVER have run into a customer like that in your salons - count your blessings! They exist. Not a lot. But some just are NOT worth the revenue they may provide. And in the case of these forums - they don't even provide revenue!

In this case - this thread is now WAY off topic - and may or may not be of any interest to more than the few here who may or may not have been banned from websites in their lives and may or may not have an axe to grind on that topic.

So - back to topic --- are you seeing a DOWNWARD trend in your salons -- or upward?? Please share.
