Re: AND THE ANNUAL DOWNTREND CONTINUES

Sunsally, WE ARE THE CUSTOMERS! And the advertisers are the real bosses or clients. If I was running this site I would want traffic. Why do you think that companies advertise on these sites? Ans: to try to sell us (the traffic) stuff (you included).

Why then, would you care what beds I like or how I wire my store, or whether I clean my beds or ask my customers to, whether I use paper towels or linen?

This is some of the stupid S _ _ _ that I was banned for talking about.

If I was the advertisers on TT site, and they were alienating their CUSTOMERS by banning them and watching the TRAFFIC get slower and slower, I would pull my ads and revenue from the site.

It takes an incredibly arrogant and stupid person to let moderators screw up their business model, just to feel superior to another member of their industry.

1. I didn't ban you, nor did this site. This thread has gone WAY off topic. That said....you are one of the "guilty party" to continue to do that -- which may well be why you were asked to leave the other site. I don't know - nor is is relevant here. I was making general statements.

2. In the salon - everyone is a "paying customer". However, you have some customers who are more trouble than they are "worth" to the salon in terms of revenue. Some websites - in ALL arenas, not just tanning - make a choice about what the "majority" of their customers would prefer.

Back to topic or let's close the thread and move to another one --- who is seeing downward trends and who is seeing upward?

A year or so back a guy was selling like a 1993 Puretan for some outrageous price like
$2,900. I posted, no respectable dumpster would take that bed. Then some moderator wrote me saying I'd be banned if I didn't have anything positive to say.

Not long ago, there were 4 and more "active" indoor tanning communities. One was known for having seasoned veterans - who were merciless on "newbies". Another got the most "newbie" questions. Some lean toward sunless. Some were more "friendship circles" than informational. Etc.

It is the right of the "management" of the sites to do what they want to preserve the climate that will be preferred by the majority of the "customers". Not unlike any of our salons. You sometimes get a customer that is so hostile to staff, or complaining, or trying to bend the rules that sometimes you just "ban them" - and ask them to take their business elsewhere. Some other salon might be happy to have them and have no problem with them. OR - they may be so difficult that MULTIPLE salons decide on to ask them to take their business elsewhere.

People aren't paying to be a "customer" on these sites. And it costs money to run them. So - like in individual salons - it is the "right" of the owners and their "management" - to do what they want to maintain their version of the "best" place for their customers.

It isn't an ethics issue or anything else. It's business. Some customers you are better off not having.
Let me just say I agree with you.

Then, let you and others know, the season has kicked in nicely, and very much on a upward trend. Yay!

Re: AND THE ANNUAL DOWNTREND CONTINUES

As usual, I am blamed for taking the thread off topic. I did not. If you will look at the posts.....you will see that that is the truth. But when someone wants to mess with you, the truth does not matter. You are right about one thing; this site didn't ban me and they are better off for that.

2 years ago this time TT (the other site) had 21,000 people on their site, now (in 2014) less than 9,000. That says it all......

The other sight is better....without you. :) just saying...

See how hard it is to stay on topic here? Habit of sidetracking a thread happens on nearly each thread started.

I am sure that if they could get it down to about 4 people it would be even BETTER! Kooky guy, BO, Sunsally, Frankie. and you. Then you could truly rise to a higher level of tanning consciousness without having to put up with the rest of us peons.

One thing that I really like about this site is that people DO NOT put down others equipment for sale. One man's junk is another man's treasure....anyone got a good used orbit for sale?

Re: AND THE ANNUAL DOWNTREND CONTINUES

It's a no-no here to bad mouth, or make snide remarks about someone's "for sale" threads. Let the market dictate what things will sell for. If an item is priced to high, it won't sell, so they don't need anyone telling them they are crazy asking that much. I know, let's get back on topic. YTD down over 20%
