Re: EFT questions

Thanks everyone for your input. I've got some thinking to do on how best to market my packages. I'm signing up with Smart Tan so hoping the training will be a big help.

Re: EFT questions

It may seem odd, but in my market, 5 or 6 salons around me have closed. I do not promote EFT's, but do offer them on request. The salons that pushed them have all closed, while I am doing better as each competitor closes. My rationale is why discount something that people will pay more for? I mean you do not see pizza hut offering pizza packages, or efts.....and they thrive on repeat business. My tanners stay with me, and pay more by buying my monthly packages.

I think what you are doing is great. The key phrase in your comment was "in my market." It sounds like your competitors went to extremes and it didn't pay off. In that case, there's no reason for you to play that game.

In my market, most salons offer a balanced approach. We offer EFTs as well as 30 day plans and sessions. We give sales bonuses that are also balanced, not solely based on EFT sales. We try to gear each plan for each person's needs/lifestyle. Our clients respond well to that approach. In our case, as EFTs have increased over the years, so has total revenue, as it should be.

Re: EFT questions

Our industry screwed up the eft plan by doing cancel and freeze anytime, just makes no sense to me, you don't see gyms doing this! The only reason they get the cheap eft price is because they are buying 6 months of it, otherwise they should just purchase a 1 month pkg!

The #1 gym chain in America is no contract $9.99/mo.

The #1 Tanning chain in America is no contract $19.95/mo includes gym/RLT/Massage.

The biggest and best car wash in Indiana is no contract.

The biggest regional chains in tanning are no contract.

Most businesses offering EFTs are moving away from contracts for a reason.
