Rep Power: 0 | TEXT MESSAGE MARKETING IDEAS Our small salon recently started text message marketing. We offer clients a free top level tan and a lotion packet when they subscribe. So far, we haven't had many people unsubscribe, but we're not seeing a lot of action on our messages either. I do think the messages drive traffic in that day, but they don't seem to be encouraging the targeted sales. So far, we've done the following: Buy 1, get 1 50% off on all tan-extending bath/body products Free Hempz Lips with the purchase of 2 Hempz products Bring a friend to tan, and you each get 2 free lotion packets 25% off all sunless products (Glitz, etc.) Free moisturizer with Luxx bottle purchase $10 off product purchase of $60 or more Free Hempz mini moisturizer with body wash or scrub purchase Buy 1 month of unlimited tanning at any level, get 2nd 1/2 off Since our salon is so small and we have less than 100 subscribers, perhaps my customers just aren't in the market for that item that day (all of my texts are valid that day only). However, if we're going to continue to pay for text message marketing, we need it to actually increase business. I had a bit of action on the last one mentioned above, but the others haven't gotten much response. As you can see, I try to come up with a variety of specials to target different products. However, I thought I'd throw this on the forum to see if anyone has any suggestions or past texts that have been effective at your salon. Thanks in advance for any feedback! |

Rep Power: 46 | Re: TEXT MESSAGE MARKETING IDEAS ive been text marketing for years...(like 5) its almost our main form of advertising. now some of my ideas mya not work for you because my club is much larger than yours. close to 2000 last i checked your deals are ok but NOT for text marketing. just my opinion You need to look at text marketing as a form of INSTANT marketing. Impulse buying kinda... what i find works best besides is single visit offers. buy 1 get 1 free 1/2 price single buy 2 get 2 free buy 1 lotion and 1 pack of lotion get the same free from my experience text works best when its really cheap and today only. Do a free tan day once a month - what we do: persons with a active unlimted package get a free upgrade persons with a active visit package get a free tan in their current level or a 1/2 price upgrade persons with a fee based month (co-pay) get a no fee tan in the level they used last or 1/2 price fee in higher level persons with no package are treated on a case to case basis-we have deals that day to sell everyone without a package-are they buying anything like lotion sample ect. are they usually a big spender, etc persons only here for the free tan and wont spend a penny get about 1/2 a session in a basic bed or booth On free tan day you need to have a what i like to call "im stupid if i dont buy this offer" like a week for the price of 2 tans or 1/2 price month -half price lotion packs or $3 lotion cups, etc we just had one on 1st day of spring and we tripled our normal daily sales. we sold 26 new memberships and signed up 7 new clients (they were on our text club and still never been in the salon) plus a bunch of lotions and upgrades. not to mention all the people who came in and had no clue about the text club offer cause they opted to not join when they signed up. we collect cell numbers on our client sign up sheet! 80% of the club is from this we also do 3 day expiration alot, but most are today only pm me if you want to chat more
