Re: Half walls vs fully enclosed tanning rooms?

If not to help keep the salon/client comfortable then what purpose do the half walls serve?

Lower walls will help save in A/C cost. Making the room LOOK like full height and do the same thing as 8' walls...priceless.

To Keep the room cool to keep beds from overheating, and at peak performance.

Also, the salons today are going more for an 'open look'; no ceilings, open loft-like spaces, exposed ducts and some form of mod-walls in place..it is all a designed introduced years ago with success by the best European salons/spas.

Re: Half walls vs fully enclosed tanning rooms?

Micha, I have a very high ceiling with 8 foot open walls. Salons produce a lot of heat and it has to go somewhere. If you trap it your beds will not last as long as they will continually overheat. Also, if I were to do it again I would put movable walls in so if you change out your beds over the years your room size is flexible. There are co's that specialize in this. I have just had to tear out a wall to get a new bed in due to lack of hall space. Not what you want to do!! I have been in business for 10 years so have learned a little along the way! Good luck!

Not an option, partial walls required, it is best to have 10' walls 11' or 12' ceiling height. At least 1" space under door. Make rooms large enough to allow air to circulate around equipment.

I hope you are not buying into a Planet Beach franchise. More Planet Beach salons have failed in resent years than any other chain or franchise. Their business model has not shown to be successful, based on closings alone.
