Just curious how many of you run your salon late into the evening/night to allow people that work 9-5 a chance to tan. I'm thinking of taking over an existing salon and expanding the hours weeknights and weekends. What do you guys think?

We're open until 9 Mon-Fri and will stay open later if traffic warrants it.

Our evenings are the busiest shifts- most people, most sales, our biggest audience. You definately want to be open as people are getting off work and heading home, they are primed for a relaxing tan in a friendly environment- let's them shake off their day before going home and starting all over.

Were open Mon-Fri 7am-10pm Mid morning is busy but it really kicks in after 3pm all the way til closing time.

Sat 8am-5pm
Sun 9am-4pm

Our weekends have been super busy especially in the am.

This is why 24hr tanning is coming into vogue. More businesses are open late, if not 24hrs. Someone has to service those that tan after hours/work

We are open M-F 8AM to 8:30PM Sat 8AM-5PM Sun AM-4PM. We are a family owned salon and cater to families. But am I losing out? I'm afraid of staying open till 10-11 due to robbers...your thoughts?

I'm curious to know if anyone shuts down their Sundays for the summer. I have done this for the past 3 years due to the crawl of customers coming in - which to me is a waste of money to have someone sit for a few people. Thoughts????? I seen a post earlier that states am's are busy. I could try doing 9/10 am - 3 instead of 11 to 5.

and 9-8 Sat
and 10-6 on sundays

we are open way to late for a saturday night we only see like 3 people past 4 it's not worth the payroll

Yeah, our hours our 10-8:30 M-Thurs. Friday 10-7:30 - Sat 9-5 and Sunday 11-5
I'm really pleased with the weekday hours, but debate with myself if its best to run the start times consistently at 10am straight across the board; and do Sat 10-5/6? and Sunday 10-3/4?

Its a tough call, and I'm not changing anything til I'm clear of whats best.

I have always tried to make it really easy for my clients to remember. We are open 10-8 M-F and Sat/Sun 10-4.
