Rep Power: 0 | Helios Version 11 After using the HELIOS software for years, I found out today that the sales reports are not accurate. When you run your EFT's and they are declined they show as an inhouse charge. Those outstanding balances that you will probably never recieve will then go on to your Month & Quarter report, etc. So come to find out when you pull your end of year report to send to your accountant you will be paying taxes on these dollars that were NEVER received! Or better yet when it is time to pay the 10% tan tax- you will be paying on that as well!! I am just floored over this and they told me there is NO ACCURATE REPORT!!! How about that??? We have had several issues with them recently and this one has really taken the cake! I need to know which Software company to switch to? Any suggestions for an easy transition?? |

Rep Power: 23 | Re: Helios Version 11 Use the End of Day Sales Shift Report and record in a bookkeeping program such as QuickBooks. On Dept/Div Reports use the left side Revenue numbers, broken down into Cash, Check, Credit Cards for accuracy. Even the Sales Tax report got a little screwy with the Tan Tax added in. |

Rep Power: 14 | Re: Helios Version 11 I am a super small airbrush tan service (just me). I am looking for a way to create/keep track of client accounts, such as; track their packages, solution I use on them, EFTs and things like that. Ive thought about salon software but Im assuming its out of my budget. I would like something I could do from my ipad (onsite). I use Quickbooks for accounting & tried to figure out a way to use it for that purpose but no luck (not super QB savy). And the ipad app is also very limited on what you can do. Any reccomendations are much appreciated!! Thank you! |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Helios Version 11 I found that although I hate paying for Helios every month and am probably going to switch to another system, their customer service is very good. Give them a call and see what they say. Heck you are paying for tech service every month use it. And JJ, no way should you bother with salon software if its just you and a small airbrush service. I just used quickbooks and a binder and made a little system for myself. I would enter my clients info into my phone contacts and make notes for them there ( solution , coats, additives etc) |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Helios Version 11 My computer crashed last week and we had been using the old DOS Breeze program which we actually liked. We don't use our software for record keeping. I use a ledger and a #2 pencil for that. Lol We need new software and I want to stay away from internet because of viruses and the dificulty of reaching Tech support. I also work 12 hour night shiftsin ICU at one of our local hospitals so I am not at the salon all day long to be able to handle computer problems due to a virus. We also need cheap. My son jsut got accepted to PT school and I returned to college last Fall. So my question, what is cheap, simple to operate and learn, and doesn't charge a monthly fee? I got a Demo CD from F.S.T. Sun Ease and have been playing with it, but they scare me with FREE for a year and I have tried to call back with questions and can't get in touch with anybody. Has anybody used, or tried them. the software doesn't seem that bad as for as just putting a client in a bed. I am checking out Sun Lync, Tan Track, and Sun Ease. Is there anything else. I don't think I want Helios after reading these posts! Lol Ty |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Helios Version 11 Helios is very shady! I upgraded my v10 which I owned outright based on them specifically telling me that I could cancel my v11 tech support at any time. After 6 months I decided to cancel as I knew the program in and out by then. I was told I CANNOT cance unless I pay them over $1000 for v11! They told me state the section of my agreement where they can change their terms at their will, anytime! Needless to say Im changing companies on principal, SHADY |
