Rep Power: 0 | Software question I know this has been asked many times, so I apologize for bringing it up again. I currently use an old version of Tan Track. I aquired this in the purchase of the business, and I do not have a security key for it. Now that we are expanding the business, I am looking at different software. Salon Touch is my 1st choice. It looks like it combines ease of use along with several other features. Does anyone have any input about Salon Touch. Love it/hate it? Any other recommendations ? Thanks! |

Personally, I think that ALL OF THEM are grossly overpriced. I know someone who operated a very prosperous and successful salon with nothing more than her T-max and account cards! So a computer system is NOT necessary. Someday, someone is going to come out with an affordable solution and I will be behind them 100 percent. Until then, TanTrak, SalonTouch and all the others can stick it. dongal

I wouldn't recommend Tantracks but i haven't heard good things about any other software either...personal experience i woudn't recommend Tantracks to anyone due to the issues that have been all over this website. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Software question -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DO NOT purchased TanTrack by Nichesoft. I purchased it for a new salon. I used the trial version and found it very easy to use. Because of the ease of the program, I opted out of the additional tech support. The program worked fine for the first 30 days (which was the introductory provided tech support). On day 31, I come into my shop and the program will not boot up at all. I call tech support to find out that my free tech support expired the day before. They would not help me without purchasing a $200 agreement. They told me that the program was not working because there were missing programs that were required in order to run the system. Again, the system was working perfectly when I left the store the day before. No one had been in my shop between the time I left the night before and the time the system would not start up the next day. Important to note than Nichesoft installs a program called "Logmein" that allows them to access the computer without requiring permission. I believe that this had something to do with programs mysteriously coming up missing. DO NOT PURCHASE TANTRACK FROM NICHESOFT. They will not do refunds for the tech support of the software. I would prefer to cancel both. |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Software question I have been using TanTrack for the past 6 years, and I find Nichsoft a very reputable company. Why you opted out of the tech support, especially upon the initial purchase, is beyond me. No matter how fail-safe a problem might tend to be, there are always problems that may develope in the first few months. Everyone's use of the program differs some, from what other users are doing. No two salons are alike. Don't come on these forums and bad mouth someone, when it's not their fault. You didn't take the tech support, period. |

I have heard good things about Helios. I think that when the day comes for us to upgrade to a 1st class software program that is going to be the one we choose. I am not impressed with the conversations I have had personally with TanTalk, and I don't think they are the company for me. thanks for your input. dongal
