Rep Power: 0 | Need Lotion Advice Fairly new to owning a salon. Opened in May, ya rough times, but business is getting so much better. Noticing some of our lotions are not selling. The girls are pushing them but clients are picking other lotions and not them. Looking to have a fire sale on some and restock with things that are more popular. Since I myself am not a really experienced tanner I'm not sure what is best to stock. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Here's a list of what we have, what's moving and what's collecting dust. Again, ANY thoughts or comments greatly appreciated!! Have that sell and will keep: Luminary Phoenician Queen 14 Karat Gold Secret Rapture Worship Me Hero Worship Made for Love Love Junkie Golden Ceremony Aphrodisiac Revival Intrigue Masquerade Metro 365 Secret Stash Swinger Retro Rocker Born to Bronze Smile, You're Darker Sensual Sutra Sienna Sunset Aqueous Kiss Bronze Rhapsody Betrayal Roar Bomb shell Have that are not selling: Ionyx (3 steps and the hot tingler) Ambrosia 360 (with and without bronzer) Fortune PotenC (Steps 1 and 2) AG Gold and Bronze AG Naturally Dark (may keep this as it's my only unscented) Gorgeous Gams Hammer Ava Harlow |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Need Lotion Advice for one thing, get another line of lotion in stock. AG makes EVERYTHING you are selling. Supre works really good in my salon. We also sell Ed Hardy, Devoted Creations, Playboy, etc. A lot of what you selling is very similar to each other +or - a few bronzers. Narrow it down to the ones that are selling good. When you offer the customer too many choices they get confused. Also the staff may not be up to date on what each lotion can provide. Have an intense training session with them. Make them study what each lotion does and have them repeat it back to you. This is where narrowing down you lotions helps, because you cant really expect them to learn 100 different lotions and what they do right away. Thats just my opinion. People are getting confused and using what someone else told them they used, or they are going with what they have used before. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Need Lotion Advice The ones you named that don't sell for you are some of the exact same things that don't sell in my store as well. I have weeded a lot of those out and have taken in OC products and some Millennium and they sell very well for me. It also has a lot to do with what your girls are using themselves. I have found what the girls don't like personally dosent get sold cause they never recommend them. So see what the girls like the best and stock those. Also I usually do a lotion of the week recommended by " Julia" or whoever is the girl who may work the most that week. Once they like them and use them they can explain better why the client should buy them. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Need Lotion Advice I let my girls use the sample packets free and encourage them to try them all so they know what the lotions are all about, that's helped with them not recommending or knowing about some of them. Thanks for the advice. I'm weeding out some that are too similar and bringing in some new stuff here including some new 2011 lotions. Also finding doing the 'special' a week with a card explaining the lotion has helped a great deal in moving some out the door. |

Rep Power: 16 | Re: Need Lotion Advice I personally think that's way to many to offer. I don't like to have too many of one type of lotion. A few accelerators, a few bronzers of differening levels of bronzer, one or two tingles, etc. If you can't explain the difference in all those lotions, how is the customer supposed to choose? I've been doing well with Everyday Shorts' Season Sole line, and Devoted Creations. |
