If I do need to be gone from the salon, I have 5 gals that are all trained to run the beds, etc. They basically work for free tanning and getting their hair done. It seems to be a win win for both of us. I get a break when I need it and they get some discounted services. |

After 3:00, our sales really pick up because our top selling employee comes in. She works til 9:00 and generates 3-4 times more sales then I. She is a selling machine and my customers just love her. She could sell ice to the eskomos and I'm thinking of letting her come in at noon. |

I started working 4 days a week, usually 8 hours, in the store with one day at my home office. At home I research product, advertising opportunities, bookkeeping and deposits. I open three days a week to oversee one employee specifically hired for cleaning, and close one night a week. This is my job - and as a new owner I feel I need to cover all shifts from time to time and get to know our customers. I have a full time manager, one other nearly full time person, two part-time and one staff member who works about 12 hours a week doing the deep cleaning. This is busy season of course. During JASON I will switch the whole schedule around and cut hours. |
