Rep Power: 0 | Renting a room? So I recently had a massage therapist inquire about renting a room from me and working 2 to 3 days a week. We do have two rooms empty and obviously they are not producing any money, so I thought this might be a good idea. She can be an independent contractor and we can just collect a weekly or monthly rent. The problem is that I have no idea how much to charge. Any suggestions? Do any of you have a massage therapist? If so, is this the way you would do it? |

Couple of options: Either charge her a percentage of her profit or charge her monthly. Negotiate with the person. Take the number of rooms of your salon and divide them into your monthly rent for their share. I would just negotiate to what you feel is fair and will benefit you. Good Luck and hope it works out for the better-wish I could have a massage right now ;)

Many are pumped up in school that they will make mega dough. As many of US know, that takes more time than they are led to believe. I've done it several ways. My current: Therapist MUST be certified and licensed- copies provided to the salon. Salon provides space only for massage. % to salon with a monthly ceiling. Therapist may not use our Salon name or contact information in any promotional or printed medium. Therapist carries own insurance with salon listed as additional insured- copies to the salon. Therapist provides all supplies Therapist tender all transactions Therapist schedules all of their own services. Therapist may only operate w/i our posted hours. Salon or Therapist may dissolve relationship at any time. Therapist may not keep items on salon premises.

They carry their own insurance and are not permitted to use our name in advertising unless approved. Their rent pays my entire building rent each Month:) Very nice knowing I can pay rent during JASON! |
