Unfortunately SalonXpert is out of biz and I'm struggling to find a replacement...

Helios has sent me a dongle and disc to download and "convert" my current os but it's a bit confusing at first and I want to make sure the conversion is done properly...but the last two nights of sitting by the phone and waiting for them to call me back has got me second guessing. I have heard some good things about TanTouch(SalonTouch).

Does anyone have any ideas???? Thanks, Sunlifestyles.

We are doing the conversion now...it has definitely been stressful but we are finally getting it. We found you have to call early in the morning because of the time difference... All the tech support has been very helpful. You definitely don't want to convert without them on the phone....Salon Xperts data file was hard to get to and actually required a patch from one of the developers to make it work. Products and packages had to be recreated because it needs to be told where to go in Helios. The client data all transferred beautifully though. We just had them log in to us remotely and do alot of the clicking themselves while we followed along. I hope this never happens again though....

GET AWAY FROM HELIOS!!! I am begging and pleading with you, for your sanity, do not give your database to be owned and held over your head by helios. I did, and when I chose to leave to another software company, they gave me un-useable data files... I lost my minutes, sales records, bed hours, EVERYTHING. Almost put me into bankruptcy. Read my comments on a thread above.

If you decide that I would write this message because I am crazy, stupid, or uninformed. Search helios on these forums. If you STILL DECIDE to make a bad move and go to helios. Back your data up WEEKLY at the latest, and make sure the backups are in a format that other companies can convert. The helios 12 SQL data files are un-convertible by other software companies. I checked with everyone, and noone could get it done for me. I had to deal with explaining how every customer had to start fresh with minutes. And many didnt come back, or I had to give Double their purchase to keep them.

do not... do not... do not... give control of your database to Helios.

No good thoughts about Helios. I would NOT recommend using them.

We use Tan Track and the old version worked great and we never had any problems. The newest version has a few bugs, but so far nothing major. It's very user friendly.
