Question Need help with pricing in a new state

I recently moved to a new state and opened my nail salon up here. I was in the deep south before and now in W Arkansas. Most of my nail clients are DYING for me to get my tanning bed set up and I'm in the process of working on that as soon as I find a more cost effective acrylic shield for the top that got busted during the move. Anyway, I have no idea what to charge here as there is only 1 other bed in town and she charges by minutes package, not sessions. My bed is a UVA bed requiring 15 sessions before building up to the full 20 mins. Then one 20 min session a week to maintain year round. I would like to offer a monthly, sessions, yearly and yearly unlimited...any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You don't say. Why didn't you upgrade for the UVB bed? If you had the UVB version, i would say $12 a session, but because it's only the UVA, i wouldn't go for more than $9.

Just out of curiosity, have you done SmartTan Training or any training on skin or tanning at all before you brought in this bed?

First post so I doubt she will even find the thread the second time. I do have to say that although there is a lack of parafuquingraghs®, the sentence structure was complete and all spelling was correct.

Well done.

LOL....be nice :) she has a single ovation 24 "LAMP" (everglo) 100 watt bed, which is going in her nail salon, elec. pd in rent, in a town of about 6000....what would you advise her to charge???
I suggested staying away from ulimiteds, go with minutes as well as a "PAY AS YOU GO" membership / $20 down / with per visit charge of $3.

Now, now boys...don't be knockin' us rektangyellar states. Heck, Jersey's rektangyellar...just stood-up on it's end. Besides the poster probably is from the deep south, LA (lower Alabama).

Re: Need help with pricing in a new state

Minutes are Death®!

If you are going to sell minutes on a single bed then you might as well just leave it in the garage. Just sell single sessions of 8 or 10 bucks walk in and sell session packages to get the cost down to 5 or 6 a session. No minutes. The bed is small anyway and the customers will stockpile their minutes and get even less results than if they wasted their money on it per session and it will eventually sit empty collecting dust.

Single and package sessions only.

No it's not a rectangle on its side. NJ is the Fuque You State. It is the finger turned upside down.

"I see!"...said the blind man. Besides, we all know it's those square states that you have to really be worried about.
