That's the hard thing about slow times ... you think you want to have BIG sales & BIG giveaways but sooner or later you start losing money by charging less per tan then it costs you per tan. |

Re: Slow... Well it sounds like you will get all their cutomers once they go out of business from all the free stuff they give away. I think that my rep is not trying to sell me anything because I don't need anything and he knows that. I know he talks to many salons that are up and down but he is saying over all things are better. Maybe the salons going out of business are because they were having free tan days and nights? :-) You can't make money on free! | |

Re: Slow... I agree with you about discounting. I make sure all my customers know that my specials are a limited time offer. I even tell them we are offering specials because we are slow are to giving customers the chance to try out the higher beds. If they are happy there they won't go back down in the busy season. | |

I dont even have the rent money for the month and my landlord has lowered my rent already and they won't work with me anymore until busy season. I have nails, massage and lash services but everything is so slow right now! I'm open 6 days a week and in school full time not to also mention being a single mom. It's too much for me! I did hire a girl to work 15 hours a week from 5-8pm so my daughter doesnt have to be stuck up here all the time. Hopefully something will break soon! |
