I also allow employees to tan for free, and they receive 50% off product. I allow for family member discounts to keep family coming in etc. I have set up ONE account that is for employees to tan under...its called Happy Employee. That account has full access in any level for tanning. Each person that uses that account has to enter their name on their time sheet as to the time and date that they tanned. On that account I can obviously see the dates and times of the tan, so I know who tanned and when. I enforce a strict rule that states they cannot tan during their shifts, but are allowed to tan prior to shift & opening or after shift & closing and of course on their days off.

I also generate reports each day to see tanners, and have video cameras (with sound) installed in the lobby. Its much easier to watch this sort of thing in a smaller salon, but I agree if you take care of your employees they are more apt to go with policy etc.

Survelience. I come in randomly all the time to check on my girls. I think its unrealistic if you think you will catch it evrey single time it happens but you can let your girls kno when they get hired that it is grounds for immediate termination. Some ppl will always try to see what they can get a way with unfortunately!

We dont allow the girls to tan during their shifts. We make the girls sign in on a sheet to know when and how offen they are tanning. But we do use fingerprint scanner and it will not let employees to tan while they are clocked in. We did have a problem with them tanning their friends but we got rid of the people who were doing it and it showed the girls we aren't going to allow that at all.
