Rep Power: 0 | Competing Salon is Trashing us! We took over a previous start-up salon that wasnt doing too well. Since we opened business has been great! However, the local competing salon down the road has been trashing us to all their customers and potential customers. According to customers the independent owner of the competing salon has been telling mutual clients that we are doing poorly and our beds are awful and that we will be closing soon. LIES! None of this is true!! We are doing so well we just opened a new salon and another one is in the making! I have been here since we opened and have been putting tons of effort into promoting our salon. We have donated multiple packages as means of involving ourselves with the community. We have built an amazing reputation and I want to keep it! But this guy keeps trashing our name to get more business for himself! I have always been a classy person and this salon is the classiest of establishments. I have never trashed another salon (even though I have been made aware of the gossip.) I'm having a difficult time handling this situation. Suggestions? |

Rep Power: 15 | Re: Competing Salon is Trashing us! Ignore it. Tell your clients what you're telling us about your success thus far and let them know it's tough being at the top. You always where a target on your back. If your comp believed what he was saying he wouldn't have to say it. The fact that clients are telling you this shows that clients don't like when businesses bad mouth other businesses. You could also send a cease and desist letter. |

They feel they can form they own opions and decisions as to what's bad or not. I wouldn't let it bother me too much, because their bad mouthing makes them look bad. Rep Power: 0 | Re: Competing Salon is Trashing us! The issue is that the former salon that was at our location DID close without much notice. We even honored the sessions and packages of those clients whom were very concerned after they dropped money on tanning that the salon just closed down one day. People are coming in asking us if and why we are closing and what will happen to their package. We have been assuring them that this is not the case. I can only wonder how many people do believe this as there was an initial fear when we opened because of what had happened with the former salon. |

Rep Power: 15 | Re: Competing Salon is Trashing us! It's gonna take time for you to shake that stigma. Let the other guy talk ****, it's shows that he's scared. Tell you clients that. Did you pick up any new beds or are you planning on it? If so, let your clients know that they have nothing to worry about as you are already reinvesting to make their experience better. Time will heal your rep, don't sweat it. |
