Question Tan Track & Processing EFT's

I am looking at implementing an EFT Program for the salon. We have Tan Track software. From looking at other threads, I see some people process their own EFT's in the beginning and then move to processing companies as the program grows.

I would like to process my own in the beginning, just until it gets more than I can handle.

I practiced today on a package - I created it, then sold it. When I sold the package - it had the EFT setup. Seems easy enough. I found the report for active EFT Customers. But my question is - will the package automatically renew itself or will I have to go in and do something each month?? And since I will be processing myself - do I need to do make a sale each time I process to show the money taken in from running the card manually or will that mess something up if Tan track automatically renews the package?? I am confused... Hope this somewhat makes sense...

Thanks

Re: Tan Track & Processing EFT's

First I can tell you that in the new version of Tantrack 3.0 it is all changing EFT wise-

But my question is - will the package automatically renew itself or will I have to go in and do something each month??
No you select the amount of months you want it to run- my program is a 12 month program so therefore they pay the first month that day of signup and then I select 11 months for it to run ex. they signup today and pay they will be charged on 8/17, 9/17, 10/17, 11/17 and so forth for the next 11 months and YOU do not have to do anything it will run automatically unless they want to cancel then you would click on the CANCEL EFT button or you can click on EDIT in their pkgs and their is a formula and you can adjust the dates etc... it is truly sijmple, but takes some practice getting use to- but, like I said it looks and functions completely different in the new verison of Tantrack.. so as soon as you learn that you will have to relearn the new verison!

And yes that would mess things up if you tried running the EFT as a regular pkg it will do it on its own- evey morning when you come in a box will pop up saying You have 3 EFT's to process and you can click OK or Cancel and then another box will pop up with the clients names inside and the date and the amt. to run and you click PROCESS and it will say APPROVED or DECLINED- OR INVALID CARD/EXPIRED CREDIT CARD.. etc...

Re: Tan Track & Processing EFT's

Thanks for the response... Do you run your cards manually or have a processing company?? So, as long as I have set someone up as an EFT, Tan Track will send the pop up letting me know who to process? If I run the cards manually - how do I show money received or will tan track automatically create the purchase?? Sorry for so many questions...

Re: Tan Track & Processing EFT's

well I process my own EFT's through Tantrack, but I don't type in the card numbers if thats what you mean? I am not sure...because when you setup the EFT you have to swipe a 16 digit card with a exp. date and it is stored in Tantrack and uses that card to run when their EFT is due.. so their is no manually typing of the card #'s sorry not sure if thats what your asking?

But, not to confuse you- if you use PCCharge Pro it does behind the scenes takes it as it was manually a keyed in transaction which sucks because its is truly...because tantrack basically in a code sets it up to manually type out the clients c.c info (even though YOU don't physically have to key in the #'s you just put a check mark next to the EFT's that need processed) but, you will be charged more from you c.c merchant for a keyed in transaction vs. swiped

Re: Tan Track & Processing EFT's

I think I am making this more confusing - sorry!! I am not using PCCharge Pro. I have a separate card reader that we swipe cc's -we do not use Tan Track's keyboard w/ cc swiper. When we make a sale for anything - lotions/packages - we click Credit Card and when the pop up for cc info comes up, we just click ok.

My thoughts on running my own EFT's is this: I was hoping to pull a report to see who needed to be charged. Once I pulled this report, then I would take the cc info and manually key in the info on my card reader. But, now that doesn't seem so simple.. I have a call in for support, so hopefully they will be able to help me.

Thanks for your responses

Re: Tan Track & Processing EFT's

oh ok I see- then yes you would have to pull a report to do it that way- which Tantrack will be able to pull for you and yes it is active EFT report- and also a tip- once you swipe that C.C. info in for you EFT t.t. will encrypt all the digits except for the last 4 digits so you will not be able to copy and paste them on a different like word document- its a security feature so make sure you write down the card #'s and keep them superrrrrr safe- because if they never had been there you won't be able to retrieve the card #'s from your merchant-

Re: Tan Track & Processing EFT's

Ok- that makes me feel much better about the actual processing!! Thanks!!

So, my next question - since I have set up packages to utilize EFT's - TT will automatically renew those packages for however long I set it to, right?? But, I will actually be doing the cc manually so how will I get the charges to show up in my daily sales info? Or will TT somehow automatically charge the account to reflect in daily sales info??

Thank you so much for your help Esglow!!

TT has to know money was applied in order to keep your EFT's running every month- so when you sell someone a pkg at your salon and they use a credit card does it come up in their purchases in TT?
