Rep Power: 0 | What Should We Do??? We have a woman at our salon who literally tans everyday for the last month or two. We have tried telling her that she only needs to come in every other day but she doesn't take our advice & we are starting to become extremly concerned for her health. Also, she is very, very skinny. She looks like she is annorexic or belimic which is also a big concern. We can't refuse her as a customer because she will just end up going somewhere else. How can we get it through to her without offending her at the same time? |

If this woman truely is anorexic or worse, pointing her weight out could cause more issues, and she needs more help than you can offer. Are you concerned for her health because she tans everyday? Or because she is so skinny? State law is one tan per 24 hr period, she isn't abusing that, Im thinking there really isn't anything you can do, besides offend her and lose a customer. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: What Should We Do??? this is a difficult issue to see everyday. but it isn't your responsibility. she is an adult & has already been informed of the dangers of tanning & overexposure. we are closed 1 day of the week. when clients say it takes away from their tanning time, i always tell them its giving them some time for their skin to heal & if they go to another salon on that day, then that is their issue, not ours. (we add 4 extra days to their package to make up for those closed days.) good luck. |

Rep Power: 20 | Re: What Should We Do??? tell her she is drying out her skin by tanning every single day and that her tan will fade quicker, which means LESS colour by tanning everyday. If she tans Every OTHER day she will get darker because the skin takes more than 24hours to develop the tan. So tanning everyday is pointless because in fact you will LOSE colour by doing so. If she's tanning for the colour, then she will listen. If she's tanning because her boyfriend abuses her cuz she's too fat, then you're SOL for letting her tan everyday in the first place!

Rep Power: 21 | Re: What Should We Do??? Just be straight with her...tell her that as a responsible salon owner you want to make sure that she understands the risks of overexposure and tanning everyday at the max time for an extended period of time IS overexposure...Also tell her that she is free to make her own decision once she has all of the information. Or you can tell her tanning everyday will make her fat and that should take care of it (sorry, bad joke...Lord forgive me... & bless all the Pigmies down in New Guinea :))
