Rep Power: 0 | Salon Management Software I am looking to purchase software for my tanning salon. I am leaning to Tan Track. Anyone use this software? If so would you recommend it? Why or why not? Anyone use a different software they would recommend? Thanks in advance! |

What it does not do directly, there is usually a work around to accomplish it. For the price though, it can't be beat. I didn't want ongoing fees. It is also really easy to use and for employee's to run. If I was in the salon and the only one using it, I would have gone with something much more detailed but I don't want to deal with a million questions since I am not the one using it. My staff usually is running it with no issues after a few hours practice. There is no manual though so I had to create my own which is very detailed for my employees. |

I have never heard of tan track until today, checked it out, and it looked @ their website looked like a good software. But coming from knowledge of Helios software I think it is the most advanced, and easy to use. Hope this helps! ;) |

Rep Power: 20 | Re: Salon Management Software Hi, Unfortunately, I have a different thought about Helios. I hate to say bad things, but .... I have had Helios for 5+ years at one salon and 2+ years at another. I went with Helios at the second salon only because I had it with the first. I went with Helios at the first because I did not know much about what I was going to need to run my salon. I was a newbie. And it looked like it would give me what I would need (unkowingly on my part). Plus, I didn't have a lot of extra money after the buildout and Helios would do monthly fees. (a big reason also) I did look at Tan Track. And I have recently looked at it again. When I first looked at it it would not do all that Helios did. Now, I think they have come a lot further. A salon owner friend of mine in Louisisana has Tan Track and he loves it. I am about to change, before the busy season hits, and I am seriously looking at SunLync. I have found that there are reports in SunLync that can help me with everyday operations and long term planning. For instance, it would be very helpful to know at the end of the day if the salon made a profit or not? Was my employee hours too high or wages paid out of line? Love to see a cost/profit ratio. Helios can't do this. Can TanTrack? Don't believe so. Yes, SunLync can, according to resources. Also, with Helios my managers have complained that when they call Helios for technical support, the technician treats them like crap. The technician talks to them like they were an 'idiot' (quoted). Then again, with Helios, sometimes the manager can not talk with someone right away. Which is okay. But, they promise to call back and it may be days before they call back, if they do call back. I have to have the manager call back repeatedly. So poor customer service. I am not bashing Helios just to be doing so. I know there are some salon owners that are very loyal to Helios and that is fine. Just wanted you to know some things to look for as you consider Tan Track. Good luck in your search. I know it can be very difficult, you want only the best for your salon. Maggie |

When they did the install they were very helpful, anytime since then I cant get through to anyone and when I do they act like I'm the biggest "idiot". I do have a background in computer programming so I do know what Im talking about. Anyway, Helios is not as detailed as I thought it would be. I might keep looking... |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Salon Management Software Hey everyone. Your replies have been helpful for me to read. I run a business in a VERY small town (like 1,500 people) and we have 2 beds (just purchased our third for our new building). We currently just use spreadsheets to keep track of people's packages. I'd REALLY like to get tanning software, but it's all so expensive for such a small business. Has anyone seen any cheaper ones that they like? I can't justify spending $400+ on software when our current system works, though I know the software would be nice. Any suggestions or advice is appreciated! |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Salon Management Software Question about SunTouch??? Is there a way to find out how many outstanding tans there is? We are just about to take over a salon and want to find out exactly how many tans we are going not to get paid for? :) Does the client package report tell you? Or is there another report we can run? Going to look at the system today so it would be nice to have an idea of what to do? |
