Rep Power: 23 | Re: Motivating staff to work as a team Talk to them individually and covertly find out if one of them is causing the discord. Put that one on probation for 60 days. If things don't improve fire someone.

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Motivating staff to work as a team Brittany Jane I have had simlar problems with my staff! I found that during our monthly meeting I sternly addressed my employees and told them that I did not expect them to be BFFs but that I expected them to act professionally while on the clock. If any one was found causing "drama" it would be a verbal written and then so on. I also found that the most people who cause "drama" are the ones who are really slacking/lacking in thier position. Look for these signs. I also had them fill out an survey where they could openly express any concerns and just let them know that they would not be punished for thier remarks. You will always face some drama at any job! You just need to set your expectations. If some people get better shifts then be direct and let them know why that person was chosen. Or you can also say in your meeting that you do not have to answer or explain your reasoning for the way you make the schedule, and let them know that unless there is a serious problem you do not want to hear any complaints about it. Sometimes setting your expections loud and clear will solve problem. |
