I thought I would share my new "green tips" with you guys. There are probably some of you that already do this and will say "duh", but those like me who didn't hope it helps...

Going paperless-
So the way I run my business seems to be on 1000 sheets of different pieces of typed up printed paper or post it notes. That can tend be cluttery and costly. So finally I got with it- and I now I am putting everything into folders on the computer with easy access for my employees to review things like new lotion descriptions, requesting time off, viewing schedules, cleaning duty signoff sheets, handbook you name it is on there. Before this all those things where done in organized binders, folders etc.

The coolest thing I did was download a software program called Notezilla- which has allowed me to eliminate Post it notes - which drive me insane- my employees will leave me various notes about customers, packages, products, or just general questions on post it notes. So this program allows us to make virtual sticky notes on the desktop with the option of having reminders on them etc. it is pretty rad! lol

Also I didn’t realize how a mess all my files where on my computer-scattered everywhere not in the right folders etc...a ton of stuff I didn't need... I cleaned up everything and I feel so much better- who would have thought that’s all it would take? ha I highly recommended doing it-even though it is not fun.

Then maybe one day our Cosmetology board will allow our sign in sheets and consent forms to be virtual too- the costs are senseless.
