Financial Statements

I recently purchased QB and have discontinued using it and returned to an Exel spreadsheet. QB is a nice program and can do a lot. However, overall, it seems like more work. After my experience, I wonder who else has had similar feelings.

Does anyone use the Uniform System of Accounts that Smart Tan and others developed years ago?

Excluding your salon software, how do you track your revenues and expenses?

If you use an accounting software (QB, Peachtree, Exel) which one do you prefer and why?

Re: Financial Statements

MS Money. Pretty easy. Anything that I need to pay sales tax on I made an inventory sheet in Excel.

Re: Financial Statements

I use MS Small Business Accounting. I think its pretty easy to use. And I am able to do my payroll right thru the software and ADP then processes everything and files taxes and all for me.

Re: Financial Statements

I just started direct deposit payroll with QB. Employees kept asking for it and it costed too much at the bank. QB cost is $1 per paycheck.

Re: Financial Statements

My POS keeps all of the receivables info so I just plug it in to an Excel spreadsheet. My accountant handles the P & L and yearly tax forms. I use Paychex to do my payroll.

Re: Financial Statements

Use Quickbooks, for daily accounting only! For God's sake, please get an accountant to handle the "big picture" for you. Please. I emplore you. Good luck. -Belvy
