How much do you pay your part time employees, just the base pay, not the commission?

Also, what if you have a "manager" (duties include, training, scheduling, and making sure the daily clean duties get done around the salon, and communicating goals that I have set for my employees) How much would you pay them hourly? They work about 25 hours a week.
They do have an opportunity to make great money off their commission. I no longer pay them off their sales they now get paid off of how well their salon performs. They have proven to me that they know how to sell now they need to show me they no how to lead and coach their employees. Also to motivate my pt employees they have a chance to "win" their managers sales for that month by being the highest performer in the salon! Works great!!!

$9.50 for sales girls, $11 for manager

If we have a bed cleaner it's $8.50

Minimum wage here is $8.00

I live in a small town so I'm sure to skew the wages - Minimum wage is was $6.50 up until a week before I bought the salon and that's what they were paying. $6.55 is minimum now and I pay $6.75.

wow claudine i didnt know you were from quebec. anways.. I pay my employees, $8 an hour for 100 training hours(trial period) then if i feel i want to keepthem. i pay them $6.75 plus 5 percent comission

Almost everyone in my salon has the chance to sell, yes even the bed cleaner. I had a bed cleaner sell more then any of the sales girls and we premoted him. He was really really good and stayed with us for 2 years. I don't like when people treat their bed cleaners like slaves. They are just as good as the sales girls!!

Bed Cleaners- 2% Commission
Sales- 7% Commission

Manager- No Commission, it used to be 10 at my old salon but we had a problem with the managers stealing the girls sales right out from under them. All of our managers do the spray tanning and they get 35% of what they make.

It works out pretty well!
