Need advice on decor!

We are buying an existing salon. It currently has a "harley davidson" theme. Harley orange on half top walls, and chrome paneling on the lower half. It looks good actually, everything in there is centered around harley davidson, the rooms are named after a motorcycle. I am gonna be running the salon and don't think I can look at that all day. But if we redo will it "run off" some of the customers? And if we redo it what "theme" should we use? I was gonna do the whole "tropical" theme but I have been reading almost everything I read says stay away from that???? So I don't know? I was thinking about renaming it Hot Tropics and doing names of islands on the doors of the the tanning rooms, or should we keep the name that it already has? I am new to all of this and need advice!!!
Thanks in advance!

Re: Need advice on decor!

retro stuff is getting very popular right now... it might be easy to convert it over to a 50's/retro theme.

Re: Need advice on decor!

The only reason I don't like tropical themes is it further puts it into the minds of your clients that tanning is seasonal and for vacation time. :)
It's just so much more fun to do a tropical theme though, I understand! :)

If you live in the tropics, then the tropics is great.... tropics should be marketed as your mini vacation! Not preporation for your vacation!

Re: Need advice on decor!

we have a theme of "eligant tropical" which has nice Purples, yelllows, white ,light wood , and leafy greens. But, we are in south florida. 1800 feet from the water. but Eileen may be right about it working down here specially. the mambers love the color patterns. aperfecttanpsl.com check it out.
