Wanting to sell and need some advice...

I am wanting to put my salon on the market to hopefully sell. My question to you all is how do I go about doing this so that I do not scare off clients. But at the same time, how do you go about letting clients know, as someone who tans here may be interested in the purchase. I am not sure if I should connect with a realtor or handle it on my own. Any advice on this situation would be greatly appreciated.

I also am asking next to nothing...as I want out and want out quickly.

Re: Wanting to sell and need some advice...

Why is everyone selling their salons? I had a great year in the business and can see where there is a lot of money to be made... but my salon is for sale because we are in Florida and our AC has been out for over 4 weeks. Our record temp in the building was 103 so far! I have lost half my clients, but half still come! Unless you have a serious AC issue, what else is going on? Bad economy?

103???? Why are you still open with temps like that? Even if people are still coming in to tan, you are setting yourself up for a law suit. Not to mention how bad it is for the equipment to be running at temps that high!!!

My god. Thats not only wrong, but in my state illegal. A room can not exceed 100 degrees. Heck, if it gets to 74 in here I start spacing out sessions to let the beds cool down!

Navi is right, those lamps will not last long much less the beds!

Re: Wanting to sell and need some advice...

okay, what would you do, landlord won't fix ac. clients have bought months to August when our lease ends. I am not paying landlord rent until she fixes and she said she won't because I will not re sign lease in August. So I become liable if I close shop before then to those who bought 3 month packages......... what to do ..... Maybe my mind is over heating...

But back to subject on hand. Why do you have to tell anyone? I would not sell long-term contracts, etc. Do business as usual, the last thing you want is a dip in sales. That would not look good for a potential buyer.

Call the "housing" authority of whatever you have. Or get it fixed and NOT pay the equivalent amount in rent.
