Rep Power: 25 | reception counter looking for ideas on new reception counter, looking for glass and wood combination, utilizing for lotion display as well as counter space. Anyone have one now and did you purchase it from somewhere or have it custom made? Been racking my brain and searching net and have found some very nice stuff but severely over priced n my opinion. Any help would be appreciated.

Rep Power: 0 | Re: reception counter We have an all wood reception desk - I'd call it medium-sized - and are able to display small displays like Hempz minis, etc., as well as allow clients to display business card on one side. We like to keep it simple and clean. Our products are displayed on wall mounted shelves that look free hanging (they slide onto supports so they literally look like they are just an extension of the wall) and don't take up too much room. These are behind reception desk for easy access to employees but not necessarily easy to grab for just anyone. We have them raised at varying heights to attract clients' eyes, but all shelves are visible above reception counter. This seems to work well for us, hope it helps you!

Rep Power: 22 | Re: reception counter You should have seen what we had before! The new one has to workstations with employees standing or on bar stool. We are eye to eye with customers. The prior owner had the desk below. Employees had to sit in a desk chair. Only one person could work at a time, so if someone new signed up OR purchased lotion the entire line was on hold. We lost a lot of sales that way, you dont want customers breathing down other customers backs! They feel the need to hurry up. While the desk below is cute, it was too small. The orange wall you see to the far right is what was removed to make the newer counter.

Rep Power: 22 | Re: reception counter If you go glass, I personally like frosted. I have seen some desks where the desk itself if glass block - not a fan of it, but then they take sheets of frosted glass and had them suspended out from the block about 2 inches. There was a polished bolt type think at each corner. With a 10 foot desk, two sheets would look nifty - in my opinion. Here are some glass counters: My fav: http://www.springboard-design.com/roger_owen.html
