Rep Power: 0 | Employee's Tanning How do you handle tanning for employees? Do you have a set number of sessions they are allowed to use during a specific timeframe and if they go over those sessions they have to pay a discounted fee or do you allow unlimited tanning in any bed? Just curious what other salon owners are doing. |

Rep Power: 19 | Re: Employee's Tanning I let them tan in any level, whenever. I agree with scub... they're your best advertisment. If you don't let them use the upgrade beds, why would they tell your clients to use them? My clients ask, "Which bed do you use?" all the time. Do you want your employees to say, "Levels 1 and 2"? They also get lotion at salon cost. That way they don't hesitate to use top of the line lotions. If they use them, they'll sell them. I also give them free samples when I bring in new product. I want them to know every lotion we stock, so I make sure they've tried it at least once. I do have individual shelves for each of them to keep their lotion at the salon in the office, that way, I see that if they purchased a bottle at cost, it's not being given to their friends to use. I've made it clear that if they ever use their employee discount to purchase lotions for anyone else, they won't be an employee at my salon anymore. ;)

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Employee's Tanning Employees can tan in what ever bed they'd like as many times as they like. I even let employees at my other business tan for free. C'mon, even if they choose to tan every day it's only costing less than $20 a month for all that advertising! I make that up in the lotion they buy at salon cost (not my cost)! If your employees are using your best bed, they're more apt to sell your best bed... It works great when a reprimand is in order as well. If your employee is late to work or calls in too many times start making them pay for lotions at customer cost or take away free tanning for a few weeks. If they don't care, get rid of them and find someone who appreciates their benies! |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Employee's Tanning I give them all thirty minutes a week. They get a ten percent commision on all the products they sell. Whoever has the biggest commision will get unlimited tanning for the following month. The competition is great and the sales have jumped. My employees also get the products for cost. Then they are walking advertisements. Good luck! |
