Rep Power: 18 | customer itches for no apparent reason when she tans in the stronger beds i have a customer that will itch profusely when she tans-not all the time and it doesnt seem to matter if she uses lotion or doesnt use lotion. she seems to be fine if she tans in the 100 watt beds-20 minutes but if she tries to tan in the stronger beds she will itch! says it can bring her to tears and last for several days. so i ruled out the acrylic disinfect because it happens even when she goes in the stand up bed. AND its not just my salon-but other places that she has tanned as well i am at a loss |

The skin is your largest organ in your body and thus the fast route to expel an irritant from your body. A quick way to tell if it is an allergy would be to take an antihistamine. If that makes the itch subside than allergy it is...if it does nothing to help then its back to the drawing board. I'll see what other info I can find. |

If you are that close to her let her try a different lotion and suggest that she drink lots of water before and after tanning. How much water does she consume on a daily basis? She very well could just be dehydrated. Does she sweat a lot?

Rep Power: 29 | Re: customer itches for no apparent reason when she tans in the stronger beds I believe it's just overexposure also. I have a couple of people that just take for F'n EVER to get over the itch. I tell them not to lose the base but they don't listen. Too busy listening to the drug dealer MD. |

Rep Power: 18 | Re: customer itches for no apparent reason when she tans in the stronger beds i'm not sure what to think- her family has a pool so she swims alot-obviously not in the winter months tho-shes an athlete-she plays alot of sports and i'm sure she stays fairly hydrated. when you say over exposure-she doesnt tan that often-she goes in spurts depending on an event or just 2 times a week. very sporadic- do you mean sesitivity to stronger lamps? and loosing color in between? as i said before-shes fine in the 100 watt beds for 20 min. anything stronger than that seems to be an issue?? |
