UltraBronz NO BURN!!!

I think that the news should be spread throughout the tanning industry that it is possible to burn in an Ultrabronz, as well as all other high pressure units. It gets very old explaining that it is possible to burn. I know a lot of people who have burned quite badly because another salon staff member informed them it is not possible to burn...then they refuse to continue high pressure tanning. How did that education even happen??? It is funny when I secret shop other salons with the UltraBronz...they tell you things like it cant burn you because its not the same as UV light...I have been told every weird thing. Salon Owners--educate your staff members...it makes all of our jobs easier. You CAN burn in an UltraBronz...it is not as common, and you have the least liklihood to burn in the UltraBronz than any other bed.

Re: UltraBronz NO BURN!!!

No no, Soleil 18 is right. There was an article today in the paper regarding sunscreen SPF regulation by the FDA which confirmed that UV A radiation does in fact burn human skin cells; and that most sunscreens to date don't "protect" the skin against UV A radiation, just the sun burn causing B radiation. So I guess it's a fact we all just have to live with now. The article also said that people need to watch the weather and only go out when the UV irradiation index is low, or lower, I forget now. It also said that UV can penetrate glass! Holy cwap! I guess the car is even more dangerous than I thought!! It also recommended that people keep their kids in the shade until they are 18 - yeah, right! hehe

Re: UltraBronz NO BURN!!!

Yes, I always have people call looking for the "NO burning beds". I don't have a HP bed but I do explain to them that all beds do burn. That HP can burn even though they are mostly UVA rays & if they do get burned it will be a worst burn because UVA rays go deep into the skin.

You have to put in lamps first.

Re: UltraBronz NO BURN!!!

Okay wait... Maybe other salons are telling them you cant burn in my HP bed BUT there is a max of 10 minutes! Perhaps after 10 minutes you can burn... but it isn't allowed here. So then they go to another salon and they let you do 20 minutes in a different type of HP bed, ya you will burn. Perhaps you should be letting them know it is less likely to burn in a HP because UVA takes longer to burn you then UVB and if you do the recommended time of 10 minutes or less I can guarantee you won't burn.
ALSO, you should be educating you clients that every salon has different beds, and if the beds are the same they got different bulbs!
I have never, EVER , EVER had anyone burn in my HP bed, EVER. My max is 10 minutes.
