how did you start? Mosy everyone on here loves to give their 2 cents so i will ask how did you get started? Did you save up $250,000 of your own money for start up build out equipment and funding for a year? I already know half of you will instantly respond well $250,000 what the **** are you going to try to do with that but i know what i would need (at least a good idea) i just wonder where people got there money to begin? i know it is a pain to try to get a start up loan for a salon they are not the most stable business. But i also know that salons are not all owned by millionaires so how did you start. was it start in a small area with a couple of beds or maybe jump right in with 400,000 and a 20 bed salon (if so how did you get that cash). Please share i would really like to know. |

Did you have to call the brinks truck to carry it all? |
Re: how did you start? Hard work, long hours, and starting with what ever you have to. Lot more to it than to sit on a stool and collect the money................... |

Re: how did you start? That explains it. |
Re: how did you start? Life savings and all the equity in our home ... unfortunately we took a wrong turn in the beginning which doubled our build-out expenses ... and $250K would have been a BARGAIN compared to what we dished out. We also have an SBA loan. I feel heartburn. AHhhhg. |
Re: how did you start? james johnston you say start with what you have but what if no beds and i dont have 250k. there is two different locations i can chose from right now one it would take about 400000 to do That includes buying the building or the other witch is a lot smaller (800 sqft) but it would cost me about 50k to build out + equipment. the 800 has nowhere to expand right now but maybe it would in the future. did everyone pull out loans to do this? |
Re: how did you start? My vote would be: Yes. |
