Card Reader troubles

I purchased a credit card machine a while back. Finally got it hooked up a few months ago and now it has quit reading the magnetic strip.

Is there an easy fix for this?

ps. Bought it off ebay. It was a reconditioned one, so I don't think I will really have any support from my processor or whomever ... I haven't tried calling them yet.

Re: Card Reader troubles

Re: Card Reader troubles

also sometimes if you run a card through with plastic wrap it catches whatever may have gotten lodged in there.

Re: Card Reader troubles

Try unplugging it and plugging it again. Sometimes they act up for some reason and once replugged everything is fine!

Re: Card Reader troubles

Blowing air didn't help. It is a Hypercom T7P.

Ok, back out there to unplug....

Re: Card Reader troubles

the magnetic reader must be bad... I would fight with whoever you bought it from first..since it was refurbished.....What did you pay for it.. that is an older machine
