Employee Problems

What to do about this?? I have an employee who whenever she closes half the closing procedure is not complete. the till is always off, not really just by lack of counting correctly. but she works at a bank full time as a teller?/?????? she is older than i am so she really does not seem to take me seriously. and its the little things that bug me the most. like mixing the bed towels withthe cleaning towels. or ringing up a visa transaction as cash and offsetting the till. i have another employee who is 23 a few years older than I and she does find. another who is 19 and another who is 16 and neither of them have any issues with any of these. the only thing someone else has done is i cought them with someone behind the counter on one of my surprise visits.

Depends on how serious the problem is. I just had a evaluation talk with a newbie that has been here for a month. Probation period is a month here. She just doesn't 'get' a lot of things, also the counting procedure, which drives me nuts. I do like her though and the way she handles herself with customers. I sat down with her and asked her frankly whether she thinks she will be able to get it after some more training. We were very honest with eachother and agreed on another probation month. As I see it: an investment from both sides. If she doesn't get it then, I will have to let her go.

You should really let your employee drive your beamer - but only if they are older than you by less than half the age of your youngest cat divided by the number of pets you have EVER had plus 1.
