Rep Power: 18 | "Your Fired" Well, not yet. So I hired this girl a couple of weeks ago. She has worked about 5 times. She just enrolled in collage and goes to school 2 days a week, has another job 2 days a week. So when we hire someone we start them off as bed cleaners for a while to get used to the system and learn some things about tanning. I gave her lotion books, Smart Tan manuals, and some info on tanning. Brought the lotion books back the next day. How can you read it all in one night?? Needless to say it seems like she has no intrest in the lotions at all. She hasn't even started reading the Smart Tan Manuals. She was going to work a couple times a week, now she has informed me that she wants to only work Sundays and that's it. Oh, and can she do her homework at work. So Sunday she plans to do homework at work all day Sunday. I can train her 1 day a week it would take forever. It is pointless, she has no intrest in learning. I will not let her tan clients until her Smart Tan is completed and test is passed. SO what are my reasons to keep her??? To give myself 1 day off a week? I won't forever because I'll be training her for Sundays forever! Right? So she is coming in tonight 4-8 so I think tonight is the night. This will be the first firing. Am I being to harsh. I don't want to waste my time on her and she is constantly asking for days off for future months, like 10 of them. WTH~???

Rep Power: 107 | Re: "Your Fired" I personally wouldn't spend the time and energy on training someone who only plans on sitting behind my counter and getting paid to do her homework. If she isn't showing much interest in learning the biz now as a new employee....she probably isn't ever going to. And if she is just starting with a ton of requested days off....forget it! Just not worth it in my opinion. |

Rep Power: 18 | Re: "Your Fired" Yes, I think so this is the first, I am kinda nervous. I have to admit. I'll give you an update. Why can't we just find hardworking individuals that care. They just want it handed to them. Tons of girls would love this job, and could commit better.

Rep Power: 18 | Re: "Your Fired" Oh, and I forgot to mention. She wants to be able to tan more than 1 day a week. I have a rule (for partimers) that you can tan on the days that you work. She said that she won't have time to tan on her Sundays that she would be working. I don't want her to tan 5 times a week and she works 8 hours a week. That sounds fair, I think. If I had to I would streach it 2 days you can tan. But I am looking for reasons because she has just ****** me off.

Rep Power: 21 | Re: "Your Fired" I feel for you. No matter how frustrating employees can be, it's still hard to fire them. However, you will feel better after you do it. If you want to give her another chance, just let her know she needs to work more days. Then schedule her. She will either show up, quit or you will fire her for unexcused absence. |
