Christmas & New Years Hours

What is everyone planning on doing this year?

I was thinking the following:

Christmas Eve regular hours seeing it's Sunday and we close at 5:00pm anyway.

Closed Christmas of course

New Years Eve again it's a Sunday so regular hours close at 5:00pm

And then open New Years Day from 12-5pm

Sugestions / Thoughts from all you veterans please.

Re: Christmas & New Years Hours

We do regular hours on Xmas eve as well, but that's 10 pm.

We're closed on December 31st and January 1st though. Always have and never had a problem with it. Gives us time to do inventory etc.!

Re: Christmas & New Years Hours

Closed straight across the broad.....I don't open on Sundays during the slow season so it works perfect...since I host a x-mas eve party no running around like crazy plenty of time to doll myself up:)~....Normally though I would open 11-4 on the eves and close on the days.... Perks of owning a business should be holidays off as no one can argue with the reason....... I am suppose to be putting up my x-mas decoration right now but I eat to much all week I am LAZY......

Re: Christmas & New Years Hours

Christmas eve is a great last-minute gift certificate day - open and prepared with little "stocking stuffer" packet gift bags too.

New Year's Eve is usually a good walk-in day -- great for Sunless and HP especially. They want to get their "glow on" for the evening.

New Year's Day is usually VERY slow. We may close that day, but at a minimum, we will delay opening until noon.

Re: Christmas & New Years Hours

you're right Christmas Eve is usually a very good sales day....I should clarify I am open 1-5 on Sundays regularly, so that should be sufficient for last minute shoppers

Re: Christmas & New Years Hours

yah its usually a good sales day for me as well so SATURDAY since I am closed that Sunday... I am going to run a last min shopper special and announce it a few weeks advance..... A cute thing we do with gift cards/certificates is with $50 dollars or more spent we let the customer choose out of certain packets and then we take ribbon and tie the packet to the outside it adds alittle extra touch:)~
