Rep Power: 21 | Networking Tantrack between 2 locations Is anyone currently using Tantrack in 2 locations? I just need to know how well it is working and if there is a delay in pulling up information at the second location if you are not using a server. Any info would be helpful - I just tried to switch to Centrix and it is a nightmare.(to say the least) I am wanting to switch back to Tantrack but my computer guy says it is also a bad idea if you do not have a server. PS - anyone thinking of centrix I would say wait a year until they have the bugs workd out. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Networking Tantrack between 2 locations We currently have Tan Track networked. It works ok, took alot of time to get it to work properly, we do not currently have a server. I'm at the main location and its super fast, but the second location does have a slight delay, but nothing that is too horrible, it works. Just be sure to back up everything nightly, we learned the hard way a couple of times with that. Do you have tech support with TT? If not, its well worth the money until you get everything straightened out. |

I have DSL - my computer guy says get a T1 line - but it is very expensive!!!!!!!! Is there anything I should ask Nichesoft when I call with q's because last time I spoke with them it was all sunshine and roses - I was not told of potential "issues". |

You may not have problems or you might have different problems than we had, everyones network is different. I know they have had many more updates since then, we did this a year ago. We also had a comptuer company here in our town help us out with it. We currently use a Vcard to connect the computers. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Networking Tantrack between 2 locations um I have no clue LOL Its something that you download off the net to be able to connect one store to another. Acts as a server I believe, i have a computer in my office that I can see everything that my one store does, so that computer along with teh card acts as the server. I'm not technically inclined by any means, but this is how its set up. Works for us for now anyway, *knock on wood* |

All in all though since its been running fine we haven't had many problems, just get over the initial setup and you'll be fine. |
