I had originally planned on my salon being tanning only, but now that I'm in here, I see a couple of rooms are under-utilized. I'm considering...

...adding a barber chair to a room that is much larger than the others and opens to the street, and if I did that, might as well add a pedicure chair in another room and maybe even massage? These would be rooms for rent, but I would pay to have them converted to whatever. This would mean having fewer beds, but a more reliable (?) income from the rents.

BUT! the guy who has been consulting me says its probably smarter to stick with tanning, as the demographics are so good here, and being the best will pull people from all over the city. He says focus on being the best -- adding some more luxurious models, a Mystic booth, etc.

What would you do?

Open with the space empty first and if the demand is there add the beds mixing up too many services can deter serious tanners.
