Question Reception Desk

Can anyone suggest the best place to purchase a front desk / reception desk for their salon?

Re: Reception Desk

To get what you want, at a reasonable price get a trim carpenter to build you one. They can probably do it for about $1k to $2k, and custom make it to suit you. If you buy one of the prefab ones they will cost $2k to $3k and you are very limited to what you get.

There is no cheap way unless you luck in to finding something someone is selling after goning out of business or something. Bite the bullet and get a nice counter. It's a good investment.

Oh, do a web search for store fixtures and counters, and you will get plenty of links for the pre-fabs. Also, all the modular walls companys have counters too.

Re: Reception Desk

Get one that is bigger than you think you need. When I got mine I thought it was plenty big enough but now that we've had to add another computer it seems to have got much smaller.

Re: Reception Desk

Do you have pictures of your counter tanheather? I've been thinking about doing one with the glass blocks, but I've never done anything with them before, and wasn't sure how hard that would be to construct. Not sure how to put shelves under it either!

Re: Reception Desk

^I do have pictures of it - my camera (with the pictures on the mem. card) is over at the salon right now. My son has a baseball game this evening and I will stop on my way and get it. I'll try to post them if I can figure out how.

Re: Reception Desk

tnannie - there is a tiny picture of it under my profile - I was trying to post it for someone else a while ago and that's where it ended up.
