Rep Power: 0 | Help!! We have a young customer who we are 99% sure that she stole a sample of Ray of Light. Now when she comes in we both (the owners) can't hardly look at her. We were told unless we had a sign that states that "We prosecute Shoplifters" we counldn't search her bag. We now have that posted, but how do we get past not being able to stand her in our salon? |

If it just a hunch based on a process of elimination legally you can't do anything. But if you have an issue with someone tanning in your studio my understanding is you have the right to refuse anyones business. I have done it to people here who have Peed in garbage cans, hit on my girls and cornered them...etc etc |

But if it is just a sample...is it really worth the extra work and trouble?? i would just make sure everyone knows to keep an eye on her and not leave her in your lobby unattended. I have people who I am suspicious about and they have notes on their files saying "Do not leave in lobby unattended" and all my girls know what that means..... |

So the other owner went to the back, and I was not here, and when she came back up frount she could tell that they were up to something. When she cleaned the beds you could tell that they were two different lotion, not to meantion that the smell was different also. Her friend was using Jacked UP! |

I don't think we have the authority to search someones bag, but we can call the police and have them check it out. The police have told us to just call if someone steals something, but if they come out and check the situation out and don't find anything, the customer can press charges against us! A sample packet isn't worth the trouble to me, but I agree that you need to keep an eye on her and never give her the chance to do it again. |

I had a girl swiping samples on me and I knew it, an EFT customer, I just made it blatant that I was watching her every move...stared her down while at the counter and let her see me doing inventory when she would come out of the room. Then Smile real big and say Thanks! She abruptly stopped stealing and seems a little embarassed when she sees me now, she knows I know and sometimes that is enough.

For aroun $85 "Junior Bacon Cheesburgers" you can't beat it. If you have a wireless network they have a wireless version as well. Look in my gallery for a sample image. Model: D-Link DCS-900 Best price I could find was at BUY.com |
