Does anyone know the "rules" or I guess, laws about using pics in your advertising. I want to do a flyer or a postcard in the near future...can you or can't you use a random pic from the internet. I don't have one in mind or anything but I was just wondering.

if it's on the internet with no disclaimer would it not be fair game?

you CANT just use a pic you find on the net - especially if it is of SOMEONE - the model can sue you if you unlawfully use the photo, as could the photographer or the owner of the image

you can find sites that provide free images, but you need to be really careful - we shoot our own or get permission for lotion co's to use theirs

I can see there was not too much interest on this thread but in case you were wondering....I did find out from a friend of mine who is the Marketing Director for a restaurant chain that you can in fact use images off the internet as long as it is not a real person or a trademarked image (ie Disney charecter, etc).
