Re: peeing in trash cans

Ok... I am in total shock right now!!! What type of person would pee in the garbage can?!?!? Were these people raised in a barn?!?!?

I had someone stick gum to the underside of my bed before...... I thought that was the worse i would ever get!!!

Re: peeing in trash cans

I'm glad the members of this board are open enough to discuss these issues. I saw on another board were a salon owner was "ripped apart" because they posted someone peed in their trash can.

Several of the posters wrote that it had to be the owner's fault because the salon must not had been a "clean" salon to begin with, and they were inviting people to do stuff like that. They also blame the owner for even allowing the person to tan in the first place. Like you could tell who will, or won't do that.

Glad to see others who live in reality!

Re: peeing in trash cans

they probally meant if you check the trash after every session you would notice! implying that the trash checking is not a routine but done more speradically throughout the day.

i have stainless steel trash cans with a foot lever to open the lid in my rooms it would be rather hard for a girl to step on the lid and pee in the trash at the same time......now a male could but still not as easily because of the need to hold the lever down!

NEVER PUT DONT PEE IN THE TRASH SIGNS ALL IT DOES IS LET OTHERS KNOW PEOPLE PEE IN YOUR TRASH!

ALWAYS INCLUDE THE BATHROOM IN YOUR TOUR!

ALWAYS CHECK THE TRASH AFTER EACH SESSION THIS WILL ELIMINATE IT NO MATTER WHAT TRASH CANS YOU HAVE!

JOE GOES IN THE ROOM THAT HAS CLEAN TRASH JOE COMES OUT OF THE ROOM AND THERE IS NOW PEE IN THE TRASH! GUESS WHAT IT WAS JOE!

Re: peeing in trash cans

we have it happen all the time. guests even undo the liner in the trash can and pee under that. we require that our employees where gloves when emptying the trash.

Re: peeing in trash cans

we've had a couple of occasions in 3 years of owning our salon. the worst was a woman who left us solid waste (yes S***!) in our garbage can. Could not believe it! and the woman was not someone who you would EVER think would do that! We now always check the cans after each customer. she's not done it again, but we are watching her! I didn't confront her, but there is a note in her account to watch out for her. and the room she was in was right across from the bathroom!!

A friend of ours has a salon across town and said that one day he had a woman use his Super Cyclone stand up unit, and when the gust of air came on it surprised her and she peed everywhere. of course the "wind" in the cyclone blew it everywhere! by the time she shut it off, everything was covered. he had to take the entire unit apart and wipe down every lamp, all the inside panels, the floor, etc. the woman was mortified and so apologetic. i think he now recommends everyone visit the ladies room before using that stand up.
i agree tho, some people must have been born in barns. I had women leave thier soiled tampons in our trash cans. yuck!
my employees also wear gloves to change trash out and if they suspect foul play they know to call one of us, and we will do that can for them. I hate subjecting my employees to that kind of stuff.

I like the kitty litter idea that someone suggested earlier. that's too funny!

Re: peeing in trash cans

This was rather interesting reading. We have had the problem and I'm glad to know we aren't the only ones. We've also found feces in the trash cans and even nasty tampons!!!!! We check trash cans...SOOOOO those caught don't come here any more. I can do without their $20 just fine. Someone else told us they had the same problem and nailed trash cans on the wall at chairrailing height.

Re: peeing in trash cans

valerie, you deserve a gold medal for that one! Eeeikkk! In 3 years we have only had someone pee in the trash can once. Thank God I wasnt here that day! ha ha! We had just started using trash can liners so the stickers wouldn't be so hard to get out. I had a guy that had a bad habit of spitting his chewing tobacco in the trash, so I figured the liners would help. Little did I know it would encourage someone to pee in it!
